Syndicate Asset Management Group 2009 - 2012


Comprising three businesses covering wealth management (Ashcourt Rowan), private clients and stockbroking (Savoy) and fixed income (Epic), with a 2009 combined AUM of £5bn. The Group rebadged itself in 2011 under the Ashcourt Rowan brand to focus on wealth management and the EPIC Asset Management business was sold to a Hedge Fund in 2011.


Asset Manager, EPIC Asset Management 2010 - 2012

  

Transferred from Ashcourt to launch the low volatility bond fund for small charity clients. Continued as Member of the Investment Strategy Team for fixed interest markets and Global Economic Strategy, as well as Fixed Interest Asset Manager for Charity Clients domiciled with Ashcourt Rowan.


Asset Manager, Ashcourt Asset Management 2009 - 2010

Recruited to bring fixed income expertise in UK and European Bond Markets at a time when portfolio values had been hit by the continuing steep fall in equity markets following the financial crisis. Ashcourt Asset Management at that time had a presence in 15 UK locations. Responsible on the investment committee for economic and fixed interest strategy.

UK based economic products and services business providing analysis, reports and insight into the global economy, industry, specific markets and organisations. In 2001 organisation employed 30 including economists, analysts, sales and support staff.

Nat West Markets 1991 - 1999


One of the leading corporate banking powerhouses of the time, with 7,000 staff worldwide.  


Associate Director with responsibility for Capital Markets in the Benelux. Transferred all my clients in Benelux and Switzerland from BZW to Nat West.  

   Barclays Bank Group 1973 - 1991


Worked for the international banking, merchant banking and the Investment Banking arms of the Group.


Associate Director, Barclays De Zoete Wedd (BZW) 1983 - 1991


Responsible for Capital Markets in the Benelux. Built from scratch and managed banking and corporate clients in the Benelux, developed excellent relationships with clients including the European Investment Bank, the European Commission and many Fund Managers at Benelux Banks and Insurance companies.


Equity and Corporate Finance Divisions of BZW were sold to CSFB with fixed income and structured capital markets being retained by Barclays and re-branded Barclays Capital.


Manager, Barclays Bank International 1973 - 1983


Joined Barclays Bank International in 1973 as a currency and money market trader, with other roles following including Research Analyst with the Bank’s International Staff Pension Funds and Corporate Research Analyst at Barclays Merchant Bank.


Previously 1964 - 1983

Progressed from Stock Exchange Trainee in 1964 through Stock Exchange equity research and analysis and Floor Trading to Private Client Stockbroking and senior management roles with Stockbrokers in the City, and with the Bank of Nova Scotia in Toronto Canada.
