Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) - https://www.spinal.co.uk/

Representing the Charity’s membership of the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and assisting their Corporate Fundraising Team by creating brand awareness with the Chamber’s Corporate Members.

SIA is the leading national user-led charity for spinal cord injured (SCI) people. For over 40 years SIA Peer Support Officers and SCI Nurse Specialists have supported and cared for people who have suffered a spinal injury resulting from a traffic accident, sporting injury, military action or just a fall at home or outside.

SIA work closely with Stoke Mandeville Hospital and other Spinal Injury Units at hospitals up and down the country to assist victims from the point of injury to managing the dramatic change in their lives to getting them back to work.

Their Public Affairs Team campaigns actively for fair treatment of the disabled and constantly lobby government and corporations.

SIA’s official charity partner is Williams F1. Williams team founder Sir Frank Williams sustained a spinal cord injury in 1986, but with SIA support he managed his life changing situation and went on to build Williams Racing into a World Championship winning team. Sir Frank’s daughter Claire Williams is Vice-President of SIA and thanks to the generosity of Williams Racing SIA is able to provide fantastic F1 opportunities to members of the SIA Motorsport Club.
